Bird Friends of You
Little birds on your balcony’s wall,
Oh, how lucky they seem, standing near you.
They can spy on you, whenever they please,
But I’m left searching, my heart at unease.
Did you see that red bird girl, my friends?
I ask the birds, their chitter-chatter, I attend.
For they perch so close, near your side,
While I’m left longing, eyes open wide.
Have you seen those birds, my dear?
Do they bring you joy, or just appear?
As they flutter near, do they make you smile,
Or do you notice them for just a while?
I wonder if they catch your eye,
As they soar and swoop, do they fly by?
Perhaps they whisper secrets to you,
Of skies so vast and oceans blue.
So tell me, dear, what do you see,
In those birds that visit faithfully?
Do they remind you the sweetness of the nature,
Or simply add color to your place?
